I am sure you all are familiar with the tag ‘A LOT CAN HAPPEN OVER COFFEE’.This is a famous tag which belongs to Cafe Coffee Day.And don’t you think that this is true.Coffee has been a drink for centuries and it still continues to be.What is so special about this drink that it is loved by all?And by the way it has attracted everyone,I am sure that its gonna stay on for another century or maybe beyond that.So come on and lets find out how this drink has captivated people of all age groups.
I am sure most of you would be aware of the fact that coffee has evolved over time.Well if you are not aware of it,I will share my knowledge with you.Coffee is a brewed beverage prepared from the roasted or baked seeds of several species of an evergreen shrub of the genus Coffea. It is said to have originated from Yemen and Ethiopia.I am sure you would all be aware of the story of an European goatherder who discovered the coffee beans after they were comsumed by his goats. The goats which were dull and lazy suddenly became energetic after comsuming the beans. This was how people discovered that coffee boosts your energy. But it is not known as to what extent this story is true.
Coffee is consumed in various styles depending on people’s tastes. The seven most popular types of coffee are as follows.
ESPRESSO:Espresso is a strong black coffee made by forcing steam through dark-roast aromatic coffee beans at high pressure in an espresso machine.
CAPPUCCINO:Cappuccino is a combination of equal parts espresso, steamed milk and milk froth.
AMERICANO:It is a single shot of espresso added to a cup of hot water.
Caffe Latte:A caffe latte is a single shot of espresso to three parts of steamed milk.
Caf au Lait:It is similar to a caffe latte except that it is made with brewed coffee instead of espresso, in a 1:1 ratio with steamed milk.
Caf Mocha (Mochachino):This is a cappuccino or a caffe latte with chocolate syrup or powder added.
Caramel Macchiato: It is made by combining espresso, caramel and foamed milk, though some use steamed milk.

But I am skeptical about the fact as to why one of my personal favourite did not make it to the top 7.I am talking about the South Indian coffee or otherwise called as Mysore filter coffee or just filter coffee. It is a sweet milky coffee that is made from roasted coffee beans and chicory. The beans used to make this coffee are Arabica and Robusta.Wow I just love this coffee!!!!
Now lets talk about the effects of coffee on our health. It has both positive and negative effects on our health.Lets begin with the positive effects first.Coffee is said to boost our memory and concentration. It is also said to prevent diseases like stroke and lower our risk of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. Now lets learn about its negative effects. It is said to interact poorly with some common medications and it can worsen insomnia. It stains your teeth and being highly acidic leads to irritation in the gastrointestinal tract.Caffeine is said to be a drug and therefore is addictive.
Now,enough of those facts.Let’s see the emotional side of coffee.Just like I said in my previous blog, everything edible has an emotional side.Coffee is mostly served to guests who visit home. They are great conversation starters as they always provide the trigger. It is easy to break the ice with anyone over a cup of coffee.Discussing things over coffee always gives you the energy and mood to talk it out.Having coffee with friends is a great way to chill out. They can be had in both ways-hot or cold.Sipping your cup of coffee and enjoying the rewards mother nature has to offer is the best way to relish the taste of coffee.Just make sure you have not more than 2 cups a day.Try t relish it the way I said or just sit down with your loved ones and start a conversation. After all,A LOT CAN HAPPEN OVER COFFEE.
