Never Give Up!

Every one of us has a dream. It could be anything. And how many of us really achieve their dreams? Quite a few! The top reason is that they give up. Sooner or later, most of us just start believing that they won’t make it. The rest few ones don’t. And those few ones have the guts to overcome all the obstacles that life could place in their paths, they’re determined not to give up until they conquer over their dreams and finally they make it!

Life gives equal number of lemons to everyone, it’s upto you whether to keep it as a sour experience or make the lemonade out of it. Failure is a good thing. It teaches a lot of things. A lot! Famous inventor Thomas Edison failed about 2000 times while he was trying to invent the light bulb. In his own words, “I didn’t fail. I just found 2000 ways how not to make a light bulb; I only needed to find one way to make it work”. If you’ve learnt from your failures, you haven’t actually failed. The taste of victory is enhanced when you achieve it after failing a number of times!

There are a number of successful people who failed at first before making it big. If they would have given up, the world would have fallen short of enough motivation to keep going! See some of the examples yourself:

  • Michael Jordon. He’s regarded by many as the best basketball players of all time. He was not even selected for his high school basketball team. He locked himself in a room and cried a lot. Well, that rejection created a fire in his heart and he began to improve. 6 times NBA champion he is.
  • Albert Einstein. Who doesn’t know him? One of the most famous physicists and Nobel Prize winner. Well, he couldn’t speak until he was 4 and couldn’t read until he was 7. An anti-social guy, whom the teachers used to say “You can’t do anything in your life.”
  • Walt Disney. He was fired by a newspaper editor who told him “Lacking imagination and has no original ideas”. He tried a number of different business one after the other and they all failed. Well, he created Mickey Mouse, won 22 Oscar Awards and innumerable other awards. He used to say that all our dreams come true if we have the courage to pursue them! Hell Yeah!
  • Abraham Lincoln. One of the best presidents of the United States of all time. Defeated in business, ran for legislature and defeated, again failed in business, Love died, nervous breakdown, defeated for speaker, elector and congress in a row, defeated for senate, defeated for vice-president, again defeated for senate. Finally he was elected as the President of the United States. Well, life hit him too many times and he could have given up! But he didn’t.
  • J.K.Rowling. Author of the world famous series of Harry Potter books. She made more than a billion dollars just from the books. But things were not easy for her 2 decades ago. Her manuscript was rejected 12 times before her book was finally accepted where she was advised to get a “day job” as the children books weren’t gonna pay much.

I just pointed out 5 of them. The world is full of such successful people who couldn’t make it at their first attempt. Life gives enough opportunities to prove yourself. And if you give up, you lose your dreams once and for all. This picture says a lot:

don't give up

Well, if you’re tired of trying hard and still can’t see the target, consider the following points before giving up:

  1. Why did you start in the first place? Why did you held on so far? What made you do that? You  can’t let all that labor and work go in vain just because of a silly thought that you might not be able to make it!
  2. Well, technically everything was impossible until it was done. 200 years ago people would have been calling you a mad if you were telling them “I’ll fly above the clouds”. Nothing is impossible! Even the world impossible in itself says “I M Possible”.
  3. You are so close to the success! Who knows? Maybe you’re about to give up at the very last phase. One more move and you’re there! At the top of the world!
  4. It’s all upon you. Do you wanna give up and start living like a loser or do you wanna give your best, fight like a brave and live your life with a glory? Yeah, the memories of giving up would haunt you forever. Many times at a later phase in your life you’d think I shouldn’t have given up at the first place!
  5. Prove them wrong! There’s always a group of people whose job is to do nothing but criticize. Naysayers are everywhere. There’ll always be people who say “this is impossible” or “don’t waste your time and money” or “no one has ever done that, how could you?”. You have to prove them wrong.
  6. Last but not the least, don’t give up for the sake of that satisfaction of victory! The joy of making it through all the adversities of the path! That immense sense of accomplishment, the ultimate feel of ecstasy!

Yell with me…”I NEVER GIVE UP!!!”
