When the gut is not healthy, the food is not absorbed properly and thus it does not get its nutrition. Also, the elimination of the un-required food from the body becomes problematic when the gut is not healthy. The process of digestion is like the power generator of your body, if this is not correct, nothing is correct. The gut is house to hundreds of bacteria which together aid the digestive process and also ensure efficient gut movement which helps in eliminating waste.

The following are some of the ways to keep your gut healthy: -

  • Sleep well: -

The first step towards health starts with a sound sleep. Sleeping is like a restarting your body. Like a machine runs smoothly and efficiently after restarting it, your body functions smoothly after a sound sleep. Your biological clock is greatly affected by your sleep p patterns. Make sure that you get at least 7 to 8 hours of sleep a day. Do not eat anything at least 1 to 2 hours before going to sleep to give your gut that much required rest.

  • Plan your meals: -

All of are very busy and badly stuck with our schedules. Meeting the deadline and keeping appointments etc have gained top most priority in our lives. Amidst this, what is neglected is food. Instead of eating when we’re are supposed to, we eat when we get to. This disturbs the entire metabolism. Hence plan your food times accordingly.

  • Eat Wise:

If planning when to eat is important then what to eat is also of immense importance. It is important to note that your body needs a little of everything and not just all of something. Have a balanced diet every time you eat. Do not completely boycott a particular ingredient. A little bit of fat is also essential for the body hence make sure that you have a smart diet.

  • Fibers: -

Fibers are a very important element for any plan that aims at improving gut health. Fibers are not digested by the human body and hence they help in increasing the bulk of the intestinal content so as to facilitate easy removal of waste. At the same time some of the fibers act as food for the bacterial flora located in the stomach. Hence have a lot of green vegetables as these are the richest sources of dietary fibers. Keep in mind that a diet rich in fibers has to be followed by a lot of water throughout the day.

  • Water: -

Our bodies can live without food but not without water. This universal solvent is of immense importance for the metabolic processes of the body. Water aids the peristalsis movement of the stomach and thus helps in effective mixing of food with gastric fluids. Well hydrated content is also easily pushed throughout the gut. Most of the dietary fibers are water soluble hence having a lot of water to make them attain their bulk is very important. The body also loses its toxins through sweat and urine hence one should have plenty of water, about 3 to 4 liters, in a day.

  • Pro-biotic: -

The bacterial flora is very useful when we talk about gut health. Sadly, the diet that we have poisoned with pesticides, fertilizers and artificial agents affect this population very badly. Also the medicines that you have like antibiotics devastate the bacterial population thriving in our gut. Hence one should include fermented stuff in the diet or have pro biotic drinks which replenish this useful organism and thus help our gut to be happy.

These are some of the very basic but very effective ways in keeping your gut healthy and happy. Do not ignore your stomach problems, not everything happening around is environmental. A lot of our health issues are because of our own negligence. Hence be extra careful and with a few extra efforts one can easily lead a healthy life.
